Do you feel the chaos of creativity?
It’s a challenge I’ve seen everyone from artists to entrepreneurs experience, absolutely brimming with ideas but losing track of them because there’s only so much space in your brain or napkins you can keep track of.
For me, this could be potentially game-changing strategies to minor tweaks for a social media post. While these sparks of innovation and inspiration are valuable, managing them alongside your ongoing work can be a challenge.
It’s a challenge I’ve seen ruin the potential of many individuals and businesses alike.
When it comes to marketing, it’s not just an arena for creativity; it's also a science. A well-defined strategy forms the backbone of successful marketing and it's crucial to adhere to it so you can understand what’s working and what isn’t.
New ideas are fantastic, but they should not derail your current campaigns or overarching marketing strategy.
So, how do you strike a balance? How do you ensure that your creative spark doesn’t fizzle out while keeping your focus firmly on the task at hand?
The answer lies in effective project management.
Not only does project management allow you to stay on track with your campaigns and strategy, but it also allows you to organize potential future projects.
For this, I utilize Asana to manage all aspects of marketing - from strategy and tasks to campaign development. But importantly, it's also a space where new ideas can land, grow, and mature without disrupting ongoing projects.
One of my clients, a busy mom, coach, and entrepreneur, wanted to utilize her spare time for her business - writing blog articles or video scripts while waiting at her son's track meet or during breakfast. To help her, I set up a 'Content Development' project in her Asana account. This project allows her to work on content whenever inspiration strikes, without it interfering with her current strategy. Similarly, she has a separate 'Content Ideas' project in Asana, which acts as a repository for all her innovative thoughts. She can quickly dump new ideas in this project that can be revisited later.
Being a creative person can sometimes feel like a double-edged sword. On one hand, your mind is constantly buzzing with ideas, but on the other, it can be challenging to manage this influx without losing sight of your existing commitment.
However, with a robust system like Asana, you can harness your creativity effectively without compromising on your current tasks and strategy. My favorite part about Asana is that I am on the free account and I do SO MUCH with it.
